Hey Lexciting,

I know we can program speed to boost, however I don't believe if coincides perfectly w/the shift points of the tranny. I will however look at it in the near future. Do you have a problem at all w/hitting the rev limiter with the power you're putting down?

I'm just curious why kensttgs400 has less hp then LexCiting? Don't you guys both have the same TT setup. If SRT is selling the TT setup for around $35K, don't you guys get the same amount of hp? From what I've read, SRT doesn't have any stages for the turbo setup so people purchasing the TT should get the same amount of hp like LexCiting, is this correct? By the way, your TT setup ROCKS!!!

To cong28,

Lexciting TT setup and my own have little subtle differences.

1.) Lexciting has true Borla dual exhaust - I don't (+30-40 RWHP)

2.) Lexciting chooses to run much higher boost. I don't want to go above 9 Lbs boost. My wife does not realize what I've done to the car. if anything were to happen to the engine by running excessive boost (and I mean it must be 100% reliable) my a-- would be out the door!! Therefore, naturally Lexciting is getting much more output from his motor.

3.) Lexciting presently runs in 30-40 degree weather, I am located in 80-90 degree weather.(BIG difference there in forced induction cars)

4.) I have very heavy(30 lbs./per) rims on my car, Lexcitings are much lighter.

5.) I have 300+ lbs of stereo in my car (I own a stereo manuf. co.) which equates to 30 HP eaten up in weight. and I could go on & on. When you add all these factors up as a whole, I just am not going to be nearly as fast as Lexciting. give me time though, I will close up the gap!!

Hope this helps clear the ?'s

True, but this is not to say you can't pay some extra $ and get more out of the car. Remember, that RELIABILITY was always a priority with this setup.

Take your lady out to dinner, business partners out to lunch, then go and run 12's 1/4 mile and smoke some BIMMERS, MERCEDES, etc on the highway. Get your oil change and do it all again.

Actually I haven't had any problems with shifting, nor have I hit the rev limiter, which was surprising to me because with the SC, would hit the rev limiter ever blue moon. Maybe it is because of my experience with the SC, and how to work the gas pedal.

When I take off, I do a gradual mesh of the pedal, until I feel the car shift, then I WOT it, and it shifts fine. You kinda have to do a gradual mesh of the pedal because of all the torque the TT's are making. I took a CL member, TMASTA, for a quick ride, and WOT it from about 25mph, and the backend went out. I knew what it was going to do so I had the steering wheel turned to counter the backend from going out all the way, but I don't think he expected it! (My bad, Tony!)

Mariusz - From what I read in the instructions, I think you can set the max boost depending on your speed (4 settings). So say you are from a dead stop. You can set the max boost to be 2lbs until you hit 25mph, then have it increased to 6lbs until you get to 40mph, then to 10lbs to 80mph, after 80mph; 15lbs max. The 2lbs of boost gives the ECU time to shift before hitting the rev limiter. When I was breaking in my car, it was set to like 2-3lbs of boost max, and I didn't have any problems as long as I didn't WOT it.

I turned down the gain, like suggested on the Electronics forum, and that helped a lot, but it still pops ever once and a while. I have a box for the sub, and maybe that will help it not to "bottom out", but I am definitely looking at swapping that Sony amp, to the one you suggested.

I am feeling you on the snow, and ice situation! It is not worth the chance of me crashing, or worst someone else crashing into me. I would chill in getting my car back too.

I am waiting for a dry day to drop my car off for the fuel regulator also, so I can increase the boost. Once that is done, I got a few tricks up my sleeve for my car in getting prepared for next season's car shows, since I can't claim the top HP number TT (Mariusz), or the best audio system TT (kensttgs400), or the cleanest sleeper TT (you know who you are, PUNK! lol).

That's what I was thinking! I mean...forget about the fact that it's a screaming beast now, but geeez...didn't it cost something like $35K?! I'm pretty sure I couldn't hide that kind of transaction from my wife, and if I MADE that kind of transaction she'd better well be able to see what I spent it on!

To Verylost & scwells72,

I have to laugh @ your ?'s 'cause no my wife does not have a sister. But let me explain,

When I purchased the car my wife made me promise "never to touch the motor or build it up" because my previous car she watched me "stroke" my Impala SS to "383" and she learned what building up motors would do. .......Therefore...... when I started having Mo make all the changes to my car I simply told her that I was adding "Cold Air Forced Induction" along with other things and she proceeded to ask me again, "Are you opening up the motor?" ---- & I said "No!!"

What we have here guys is a wife that does not understand really what was done to the car. I told her what I did, but I just used another term instead of "Twin Turbo" As far as the bill paying, I take care of our bank accounts and Visa accounts 100%. As much as it can be a pain, there are also some advantages to it. Just take my TT GS400 f/example. Hope this clears up the ?'s.

Ken

Now lets suppose your wife get suspicious one day riding in your car when she hear those turbos spool up and maybe makes a lil visit to this site. Reading that would make her pretty f***ing mad. Maybe even want to kill you. Oh man are you in for it when she finds out. It may make you a firm believer in misogyny.
