Default Single Exhaust

I was trying to see if there way anyone who has messed around with a single exhaust system on their 2IS. Main reason I ask is because from my understanding there isn't a real benefit for V6 engines to have dual exhaust since the pulses aren't overlapping as much as they are on a V8 using an X pipe and a single exhaust should provide better scavaging for a V6. I was thinking joining the two pipes with a Y to a single 3" should be sufficient. I found one person who did it to his IS350, but it was a long time ago, had a custom rear lip for the single outlet too, I think the posts I found were him selling the car, lol.

I know most guys on here wouldn't do it since dual tips look nicer. but just wasn't sure if anyone else has done it yet.

Maybe something like the Nismo S-Tuned cat back system that's on the 350Z?

Nice, how's it sound? Did you just replace the dual mufflers with a single or did you do a cat back?

Actually the Nismo 370Z exhaust looks like this.

I ran a dual system on my G35 Coupe. The system was an Invidia, and was a true dual with no "X" or "H" pipe. At idle it sounded truly awful. I added an "H" pipe to it which smoothed out the exhaust pulses and it sounded much better. I had full headers on that car, and the exhaust plus headers proved to be money well spent as proven by my dyno sheets.

No way he had titanium piping, I think you mean his titanium muffler tip and carbon fiber body of the muffler. No one really welds titanium, it's very expensive.

Yea, true duals on a V6 isn't that great. And I showed a pic of the 350Z Nismo S-tuned kit, not 370Z.

edit: just realized the guy who had the single exhaust a while back was windex.

Someone had a single barrel Evo 2 exhaust. Don't remember who it's was, search in the 2IS for sale.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Unislay, thanks I will check it out.

Gville, jeez wonder how much that cost

Edit, just checked them out, 4 to 5 k, crazy, but the subie one is only 2k lol. The one for the gtr is done up as a single also since it's a v6 and the isf is done up like true dual since it's a V8.
