I confirmed the findings that "matter" with the IS350 GForce chip I have on hand. Cliffs Notes:




What a POS. Anyone trying to figure out what this device is engineered to do is going to start with the large p/n easily seen on the main chip. Philips 74HCT573D
The 74HCT573D is an octal d-type transparent latch. IE - this is NOT a programmable chip. Hmmm OK.....and so what if its $.28 ?



After searching around for schematics, I found the pin ends and compared them to what is connected on the GForce chip. From the very start, one can clearly see that the GND pin is not connected to ground. There is a trace that leaves this pin and ends at a wire solder joint....but there is no wire. LOL Only two inputs are actually used on the chip; D0 and D7, but their corresponding outputs Q0 and Q7 are not. The Q3 output is connected, but the corresponding input D3 is not. Finally, the OE pin is not connected, which needs a signal to tell the chip to send the stored (not programmed) values to the Q0-Q7 outputs.




As you can sort of see here, the traces on the backside of the board simply link five resistors together, which ultimately should apply a 32.n kΩ load across whatever its connected to (IAT sensor). I confirmed in my testing that via multimeter we are measuring a full-open circuit. This effectively means that some of the traces aren't even connected all the way across. In conclusion, this is why the manufacturer can claim that this chip will not harm your vehicle in any way - because it doesn't do anything!!!!!

I bet these azzh0les made thousands of dollars for a few days worth of real work (website/commercial)....damn... At least the product cant damage vehicles...No one is out more then the $69 or whatever they spent.

 

You could've saved $69 by doing a search for the last 4 or 5 times someone asked about that or a similar device here and I told them it was just a fancy-named resistor with $1 in radio shack parts attached to the IAT that did nothing useful... (which you can tell just from the directions without needing to buy the thing)

But kudos on actually doing the circuit tracing and such

 

LOL! I wanted to see if they actually applied a resistance to the IAT sensor. I "donated" $25 to a fellow CL member for this POS.

Thanks for finding out what's in this box. I knew there was something in it, but I didn't actually think that there was something that did NOTHING. What a rip off!!! This company needs to be shut down...
