How much does the PPE header cost? The OBX is $350, which I'm sure is a lot cheaper than the PPE one. If you're saying that the header will crack, I think that is more of the end user not replacing the motor mounts on the car. It's not entirely the fault of the headers. Old mounts will allow the engine to shift around big time and will crack almost any set of headers out there.

I think its more to it than just the motor mounts.. I believe applications vary as well from 400 to 430 and other cars they have listed. I dont think is one size fits all. It was only a matter of time where S&S/PPE design was gonna get copied and mass produced, its THE WAY OF SCENE..
To many variables to go dropping $375 for something without R&D and or a Quality name behind it.
But guess what, Im sure there will be buyers...Just like everything else..
All OBX "racing" does is have China make copies of other peoples products and then sell them through their multiple trade names. They don't do a good job at it either. Nor do they know what they are selling. They have ZERO customer support or product knowledge. Such as the GS400 and GS430 manifolds are different and not interchangable.
Agreed! I have limited knowledge of the header design among the various years/models but from looking closely at this OBX desig , it's very likely that they are going to have "some" clearance issues. Particularly on the first runner on the driver's side header, it doesn't tuck in like the passenger's side front runner. This could cause clearance problems along the drivers side frame rail and sub frame. Additionally back on the drivers side, the collector design, the way the pipes are merging, looks like it is going to be a problem for the steering shaft, at least on my GS400.
Like anyone, I like a bargain, but if I were to dedicate the ~10 hours it would take me to install these headers properly, I surely wouldn't want to be dealing with "numerous" fitment issues with these OBX headers. Sometimes a extra few $100 is money well spent, and this is where PPE's R&D will easily pay for itself!
I agree on the fit ment because these are mass produced and they dont take much time to make sure everything is perfect but I don't think they will crack. I have bought the m2 exhaust in eBay and I couldn't be happier. It's still holding sting after I've scraped it as I am lowered. And I no what you guys are thinking, headers and different from the mufflers but for $350 theyre not that big of a risk. And I'm sure you can return them if they have fitment issues. Just my 2 cents
I also compared the PPE and the OBX headers and the only difference is the drivers side. The o2 sensor is in a different place and the piping isn't as tucked in. Other than that they look almost the same
I will most likely try these out once I get some money saved up after my suspension is finished. I want to gut my cats so this install will give me the opportunity to do so at the same time. Do you think that I will need to tune after the headers and gutted cats? I would think that it would run a bit more lean with the added flow...

Nearly everyone complains about there not being any parts for our cars, especially V8 headers. Then a company like PPE makes some, and at a damn good price when every other set that has come along has been at or over a grand (keep in mind that reputable headers for hondas run in the $300+ range, and that's for just 4 cylinders/one bank of our engines), and people actually talk about buying a chinese knock-off and wanting to know about their durability!
No company makes parts for our cars without market research. You know what the research is telling them in this thread? That if they make it, we will buy the knock off. Now why in hell would someone go through the expense of R&D to maybe get one group buy done before everyone else just buys the cheap crap?
The only advantage of the OBX is that they are stainless steel. Now the quality of that stainless is unknown, they are just going to discolor the first time they get hot, and they are under the engine never to be seen again so it doesn't matter.
Personally I'd trust PPE coated steel headers over these any day of the week and from what I've seen PPE's customer service will practically spit shine your shoes while they send a replacement if you have a problem with their product.
