Default what's the difference between intakes?

I've noticed most intakes cost around $200+ I assume the intake piping is all the same, and it's the filter that matters. so why not just get a cheap eBay intake, and buy a K&N filter for it? Am i missing something??

The piping is what improves the HP, not the filter. Most of the options out there don't even increase HP (such as the one you linked) because the heat soak that occurs from not taking in fresh, cooler air from outside the engine compartment. Utilizing the stock air box with a smooth walled pipe is what improves the performance (Joe Z or F-Sport intake). If you're looking for more noise, the option you linked will do just fine. In either case, any improvement won't be noticeable.

Yes, you're missing that the filter is irrelevant. The stock one flows more air than the motor can use.

A Joe Z intake is $125 and replaces only the intake pipe and makes as much or more power, sucking colder air, than all the expensive short rams with giant unneeded cone filters do.

(though the short rams do make more noise if you're into that)

well if there is no noticeable difference in power, then i would rather go with a louder one But if that if the louder one just puts out higher engine temps, then i would rather just keep the stock one, and spend my money elsewhere

If you just want noise and rather spend money elsewhere you can do the intake mod

Joe Z= Only a slight noise increase, +5 hp, retains stock colder air box.

F-sport= Joe Z clone, but makes more noise thanks to lower airbox piece, comes with a reusable filter (which is a $ saver if you plan to keep car over 60k miles), and is the only intake legal in California... but costs 3x the Joe Z.

All the short rams= significantly louder than either of the above, price usually in between (or nearer the F-sport), power add is questionable since you'll suck hotter air.

cut a hole in the stock lower airbox so it looks like the F-sport lower airbox. Same noise, but free.
