Default Is350 OEM exhaust in an IS250

I searched everywhere but I could not find any information regarding the piping diameter of either car. I don't want to put an obnoxiously loud aftermarket catback on my 250, regardless of the power gain. But will I benefit from putting my friend's Is350 OEM catback on to mine?

Despite being interchangeable, they do have different part numbers. Not sure what exactly is different though.

You can pick up a Tanabe exhaust for very little on the classifieds. They are super conservative.

In my personal opinion, doesn't it make sense that the IS350 exhaust would be larger in diameter because of the difference in engine size and power output? But I just can't find any information to justify my theory.

I will try to find a sound clip or a video of an IS250 with the Tanabe exhaust to see if the exhaust note is to my liking. Thanks guys for the input!

I'm also hoping the hangers and bolts are the same between the two.

The headers are the same between the IS250 and 350, however the midpipe and catback are not. Again, I don't know what's different.

maybe since you don't want sound, you should pick up an intake instead. The joe-z intake barely gives you any power, but neither will the exhaust. If you only do the intake pipe, there will be no noticeable difference in sound and the intake is only a fraction of the cost of an exhaust.

Yes the JOE-Z intake pipe was my first engine mod...but the reason why I'm asking about the difference in exhaust piping diameter and mounting points is that my friend is just giving this to me for free. (if ever I decide to take it and install it)
