Well finally got done installing my sport intake and it was a pain nothing really wanted to just go into place took alot of wiggling and bumping to finally get it to sit right anyone else have this issue
Not knocking on your skills Sir, but would this be your first install ? If you think thats bad, try installing drop springs on a 2012, the DIY was no where close to what the 2012 looked like LOL, well atleast you got yourself some goodies under the hood !
I know it sound bad on my part but im a very diy fix it type i have tore down and built up several honda motors in my day not my first time under a hood thats why i was wondering why this was such a pain. the top and bottom part of the intake box did not want to line up easily for me then the plastic nozzle was not wanting to sit properly to bolt down. its almost like the box was warped or something but anyways its in now
took me like 10 min, its pretty straightforward. Maybe you shouldn't work on cars anymore, as your skill level is very low.... ha jk man. But I ran into zero issues and I've worked on many cars and have never had any issues installing a intake system. The F-Sport intake has plenty of clearance all the way around so I don't see what was in the way?
I had the same problem as well. I've done actually 2-3 different intakes on the IS350 just to get a feel for which one I wanted to stick with. The F-sport wasn't bad, but when you mentioned the top not wanting to line up, that was the same problem I had. I had the lower airbox in without problems but it almost seemed to sit just slightly higher and further back than usual, it took a bit of wiggling and jiggling but eventually it all worked out as well. Interesting that you brought this up.
Never had a problem with the install. It took me about 30 minutes because I was taking my time and double checking everything was where it was supposed to be.
