Default Megan Racing Midpipe: Review + Video Clip

Hey guys / gals,

Finally got a chance to purchase and install the Megan Racing midpipe on my 07 IS350. Thanks Tom for hooking that up. I jacked up my car to do it myself but the bolts were rusted on so I took my car to have it installed at Shift Fast Motorsports. Thank you guys very much for hooking it up. If you are local, definitely hit those guys up. (Website is: http://shiftfastllc.com/about.html - no i don't work for them just extremely pleased by service.) Khank and the crew are extremely friendly. He even allowed me to take a spin with him in his VIP'ed out 430! Baller car!

Anyways, back to the midpipe. I honestly don't hear much at all in the cabin compared to stock. There is no drone, almost no noise at all as if there was nothing there. In regards to power, not much of a gain but you can tell slighty. All in all, i'm pretty pleased. I didn't know the midpipe made any noise until I actually recorded it using my ipwn. Sounds very similar to the fellow clublexus member who posted about the invidia midpipe. Anywho, hope this helps some of you guys who are thinking about going midpipe only. Enjoy!

Nice little review. Similar to my own, though I have to disagree about Megan sounding like Invidia

Your review was extremely helpful as well and informative. I would agree with you. The megan does not sound as aggressive as the invidia, which I like. It also is quieter. Your set up is very nice! The member I purchased the midpipe from also had the same set up as yours and man did it sound amazing in person. The video's really do the car no justice.

Correct, everything is stock on the car except for midpipe. No intake as of yet.

Thanks man! Lexus did a good job on outside noise in the cabin so you won't hear it very well. If you ever been in a g3X, it doesn't have the same sound inside.

Any feedback on highway driving? 80mph range and 2-4k rpm?

2-4k with windows down you can barely hear any difference. I drive 80 on average and it still sounds stock. To be honest with you, you'll only hear it if you are outside listening or behind the car.

Does this midpipe remove the catback so it's still CA legal?

It removes the secondary cats which is illegal in CA. Yeah I know... california emissions laws suck but id say just get it. I live in SoCal and have the invidia mid pipe and have only been pulled over several times not because of the mid pipe, but because my exhaust is " too loud"

Megan has the more deeper growl to it where the invidia has the higher pitched tone.....only thing about invidia is it has rasp at high rpm's...for example you can see in the first 4 seconds.

I dont know if it has anything to do with the Fsport exhaust, but I have zero rasp across the entire RPM range with my HKS and Invidia midpipe. I did have rasp at high RPMs with my old setup of Fsport/Invidia. I cant comment on any other exhaust because Ive only owned those two.

Why do so few people have the Megan, as opposed to the Invidia?

I would think its because midpipes generally will make our cars louder so Im assuming most would opt for Invidia if they want loud. Thats just my opinion though.
