Default Joe-Z Intake question

Do i have to use the intake box when i install it?
or can i use like an Open air filter?
Is there a negative side if i do? or positive side? lol



I tried to look all over the performance section but couldnt find my answer.

It only replaces the piping portion. You still utilize the stock air box. You can dremel a hole in the stock airbox if you want, i know others here have done it.

How many of you have experienced rough running issues after installing this mod. I have heard several members with fuel trim problems after installing. I am thinking about getting one. What are your thoughts on it?

Really?

Can you link to the posts of that?

I don't recall ever seeing that.

I'm not sure how that'd even be possible unless they failed to install it correctly since all it's doing is replacing one tube with no moving parts with another tube with no moving parts that flows a little better... and the nature of the closed-loop MAF/O2 system would be constantly adjusting fuel trims as needed.


Now if they didn't install it right and there's unmetered air getting in there that could certainly cause problems- but that's a problem with the installer, not the part.

Agreed Kurtz. A tight seal is necessary or it will be like a vacuum leak on any engine and cause a rough idle.
