That's a hoot G! DaveGS4 and I have a special strip like that around where we are, but nobody consulted us before the area started to be developed, and our tree buffer from the main road is nonexistent now.

At least our LEOs don't take it for themselves.

Default We don’t get no respect!

Dex – those people got a lot of nerve! How ‘bout seeing if one of the environmental groups will plant a new tree line? You could convince them that those trees were near the flyway of the L-crested North Carolina Blue Swift.

LVgs400 – I took advantage of the recent group buy through Steve at Carson (thanks again to 2Savvy). It’s the Precision Industries Dragon TC at 2800 stall speed.

Default stall speed

Hi guys,
I'm pretty ignorant, and I have to say i cant understand what this "2800rpm stall speed" means. Does it mean when im at idle i'll constantly be going at 2800 rpm? Does the dragon TC (which is what i plan on getting) going to subtract from the luxury aspect of my sc400?

2800 (or any other) rpm stall speed won't affect idle. It means that the engine must be going at least 2800 rpm for the torque converter to be 'locked' (delivering all torque) to rear wheels. The stock TC is 1800 rpm stall and since the GS doesn't deliver max torque from the engine that low, then switching to the Dragon means you get closer to max torque delivered to the rear wheels when it locks up, meaning GOBS of torque on queue - it's a GREAT GREAT mod. Not cheap, but loads of fun.

Default TC

Thanks... Sounds good to me. Keep us updated on how you like your TC, although I'm sure the result will be the same "Its awesome!" response as everyone gives. Ive decided on this over the lexuspros computer rebuild, The only issue is who tto install it, I've already found a place to do it for 280.

Great job, I love mine too... You really need to put in the LSD and then the times will drop. Even with my tc and lsd the car will roast the tires at will. But when you play with the gas and learn the new power its great. I have no problem taking on a new C-5 from light to light. Most of the time they dont think and then its too late. I plan on going to the drags some Friday night but havent had the time. I just want the car to run high 13-teens. I know its tough to do!

the more power you put out, the more traction you will loose, got to have the LSD.
I am stock now, no TC, LSD yet, and I still burn rubber with my 285 size tire hee hee, can't wait to put the supra 3.76LSD gear in.

The PI 2800 stall TC is installed.

Driving impressions? I think others that have done this mod have said it all for me. Not only does the TC significantly improve acceleration out of the hole (yes, even with an open differential), it improves acceleration from a "roll" right after the transmission downshift.

All in all, I have to echo the opinions of others that this is one of, if not "the" best mods out there for the GS4.

No, you won't be able to experience 100% of the potential performance increase of this mod out of the hole until you get a LSD. If you don't plan to drag race or autocross the car, I wouldn't see a "need" for a LSD.
