Figured I would do this while my nasty corroded valve covers were off..... a little sanding and some paint goes a long way. Although most of it will be hidden under the intake manifold and engine cover, but still... lol

Moving along here, we have lowered the subframe partially enough to be able to get the oil pans out, and remove the rod bolts thus being able to pop the entire piston out the top of the motor...

Here's some comparison shots for the stock IS300 GE pistons/rods vs the stock Supra GTE pistons/rods. Keep in mind I will not be using the GTE pistons. As you can see the stock IS rods are much thinner than the GTE rods... I know I've read of other IS's (earlier years) coming with the better GTE rods from factory, but I guess its just luck whether you got them or not depending on which factory/batch your car was produced in.

Question for the mods.... How do I change the title of my thread (since I am now doing an engine build)? I tried changing the title of the first post which works on other forums, but not here??

Since I've already gone this far in taking things apart, why not swap in my W58 as well??

It wasn't all that difficult if you collect the right parts. Thanks to the guides on my.is for the how to.
