I need help
After I did little mod to my srt intake, engine check light came on after about 20 miles of driving so I reset the ecu with pulling negative term. of the battery to make sure. the light went off for awhile then it came back on. I did this about 3 times with same results. Can someone plz help? I have attached the picture of mod. thanks
what sensor are you talking about? I had no problem with the intake until I had mod directing colder air from front to the filter.
I had intake for 1.5 months without any problems. so I don't know what might be wrong.
For the 300 you can't have cold air blowing directly onto the air filter this was the reason why MO never put the Air Director shield for the GS300 the ECU is different....it will work for the IS300 though...
You have to remove the air director and cover up the hole you made that's the only way you're going to get rid of the check engine light...
really?
I C. well, this sucks. all that work for nothing. I will try to remove the air director. will let you know. well, for other gs owners. I guess don't do what I did.
thanks
Go to your local Pepboys or whatever and have them check what "CODE" is pulled up.
Just because an engine light is on doesn't mean you did something wrong. It is just detecting something out of the norm. Colder Air = more power. No matter what the light says. Heck weld off your CATS and add a 2.5" tube and then you will see engine lights:eek: As long as it doesn't shut the engine off or hurt it, and at the same time adds power... Keep the mod. I bought a OBDII code checker plug it in and check to make sure it is the only error code and erase it every week.
Good luck!
May want to dyno to make sure your adding power and not just a x-mas tree on your dash.
I think I am going to dyno my car when I get my cam gears and underdrive pulley. Hope to see significant power increase since I spent so much money already. Thanks for you guys input. It gives me peace of mind that I am not the only one with minor glitch like this. and the car runs perfectly. Thanks y'all.
hey friend who owns is3 here in colordo just told me that cam gears and crank pulley is bad idea for gs. is it true? did anybody had them installed to their gs? I am thinking about cancelling the order. help plz.
someone else made a similar mod on their 400 last year with the same results. The reason for the light has to do with airflow velocity disruption across the mass airflow sensor. With the air fluctuating, the MAF sensor sends an unstable signal to the ECU.
