AFIK ive been informed that unless you are running meth with some other modifications to the super charger kit, your car is going to run super lean and also lose hp. I personally cant validate that as I do not have a super charger installed, but a friend of mine who worked closely with LMS relayed me that information.
I beg to differ. A good water/meth setup with a centrifugal S/C you shouldn't be seeing any significant closed loop boost. The meth will act somewhat like a 7th injector and open loop fueling will actually be rich. By keeping boost moderate timing control should be a non-issue as the ECU will advance timing due to the meth. You can effectively up the boost and gain power.
I know I'm not yet a 2nd gen guru but if the engine/ECU is handling 5psi safely (which has been proven) water/meth will easily allow for more psi and power, despite somewhat lean a/fs. Ive seen nothing even remotely dangerous as this ecu is so aggressive that if there is any knock what so ever it retards timing rather quickly and the power will fall on it's face.
Also, I've talked with Steve and a 50/50 meth setup comes highly recommended. Super nice guy and very knowledgable!
Love seeing progress in the F/I department! Before we know it there will be turbo setups, differing engine mgmt piggybacks, a custom returning fuel system, etc. Just gotta put on the seat belt and hold on for the ride. Wish I had additional income and an additional car to play with in order accomplish progress in this area myself; but alas, I had to sell my two boosted Civics to get this one Lexus. LOL!
Anyone install a wideband on any of these boosted 2ISs?
