Default Just Got My Joe Z "Special Edition" Intake!

Hey guys,

Special thanks to Luis, Joe Z himself and my buddy Ken (iRock) for helping me come to this decision instead of doing another F-Sport Intake. This thing is BADASS! Love the color, love the subtle sound increase and love the price! I also like the idea of it going to a forum member and having direct contact with the designer...very cool. I enjoyed having the F-Sport on my last two IS's but I couldn't get over that hole in bottom box...it's sucking in hot air!!! For $300...it's a bit of a rip off. Luis said there is going to be a afe drop in filter for the 250/350 which I can't wait to get my hands on. I would said there is a tiny tiny tiny increase in sound with this thing, but the throttle response difference is huge...already. I would recommend this to anybody who is up in the air about going for this one or a F-Sport...it's a much better choice!

Looks nice. Does he make one in black? Not much of a under the hood color person!

Ya there is a black one...I haven't seen a picture of that but the blue looks pretty awesome. I am not one for color's either but especially against an Ultrasonic Blue it'd look reeeeeeeeeeally slick.

Congrats! I love my Joe-Z SE Intake as well.

What does the above quote mean? Joe-Z is making an air filter now?

I guess Luis at L-Tuned parts is working with aFe to do a drop in filter for the IS250/IS350...they have them for the IS-F and IS300 but not for the 250/350.

I don't understand how one metal pipe can be a "better choice" than another unless the pricing is drastically different between the two. (okay, found that the Fsport intake is $150 more expensive)

Also, where are you guys ordering these from? Which particular website has them at a good price?

The F Sport is more, but it comes with a new filter, bottom air box and is CARB legal for CA peoples.

Yea, I just hacked my lower box to make it the "f sport" bottom box, now I just need a K&N filter and fab together a pipe.

Thanks for sharing PJ...

Did you take any installed pics ??

Also, Satin Black is the standard finish for the stealth look..

From time to time, we make small runs of the Blue

I'd personally want the satin black. I don't like eyesores in my engine bay.

I don't get it either. If it were up to me all intake posts would be banned. An intake on this car is hardly a mod, it's a noise maker. As far as the F Sport box sucking in hot air that's false. The hole is right behind the headlight and not facing the engine bay. If anything it gets a bit of cooler air that flows around the headlight while driving. I bought my F Sport pipe from Sewell as I knew I didn't need the box. I just cut a hole in my stock box in the exact same area and saved myself alot of money.
