Default what do you guys think of my intake setup?

hey all,
today I did little mod to my srt intake. I bought a separate universal heat shield and installed on my srt intake. I think it should help with blocking heat from engine bay. what do you guys think? also I attached couple pictures of my car. I am installing ltuned springs and shocks with trd rotors and pads next week. I hope thats going to make my car look alot better then now.

you sure covering up the air filter like that is a good idea? the air doesn't enter the filter from head-on...it grabs air that flows all down the sides too. i suggest you thicken your heat shield and build a cover, unless one is there and you took it off for pictures.

but the car appears to be coming along nicely. borlas? and i know what rims those are!

so far I don't feel a problem. I think there is enough space between the heat shield and filter for air supply but I will see if there is any performance difference in couple of days. Yeah, I have borlas, and I am loving it. These are the mods that I have done so far and I don't think it will be end of it either, my poor wallet.
tm plugs, srt intake with race ecu. borla exhaust. Aristo emblem. 18" wheels with nitto nt555 245-40-18s.
soon with trd rotors and pads, ltuned springs and shocks.

it never ends. ever. but if you leave here, you'll believe your car is great as it is, and your eyes will be saved of all the new things. i also had your brand of rims and was happy until people showed me the brighter side of rims and other mods. i'm a lot poorer than i was before CL.

like i said, coming along very nicely on whatever budget you have

kapdori,
looks interesting, do you have the srt heat shield angled in more than normal? BTW, where abouts in Colorado are you? I spent 3 years in Colorado Springs, great area!

mumbles,
I live in aurora, CO. I lived in colo spgs for 10 years before moving up to denver area. Its nice to meet former fellow coloradian.
well, about intake shield, no I don't have it angled more although I could angle it more in or out. the shield is pretty flexible. I drove around town tonight and didn't noticed any degration in performance so I am happy. Again, I think I have enough gap so that I have more than enough air supply. I just don't want any hot air. I believe hot air usually stays on top so if intake could suck air from colder on bottom I think it might help. but what do I know. I just have to try to see.

Beautiful area, I really enjoyed the time I spent there. Must be the angle of the pix, it just looked different somehow. Keep up the good work!

Default re

Stephen,

the car look sharp as hell. One suggestion: you might want to put the black plastic air vent back on, it might help to bring more air in the intake.

Does the car still shaking on hight speed?

Bryan

bryan,
I am thinking about doing that. but I think I have to cut a hole on side of srt heat shield to attach the plastic vent. Maybe soon.
and the car seems to be shaking less. so I will see. I think I will be fixing the bent soon and rebalance the tires after, hope that will fix the problem for sure. thanks

oh, stylin,
I got the shield from lightspeed high performance at 314-432-5221. I think ask for john.
its r-tec universal heat shield for conical filters.
you can go to www.rtec-usa.com for reference.
