Default F Sport Intake

Does adding this Intake effect any gas mileage good or bad?

I don't know about good. I'm sure it won't change if you don't change your driving habbits...but as many of us know, we love to hear it ROAR! And by opening it up more often than you would with out the intake, gas milage will tend to decrease a little bit and Driving Pleasure will go up!

Modern cars work using a mass airflow sensor that detects the amount of air coming into the engine, and its temp/density.

It then applies a map to say "for X air I should inject Y fuel"

It then uses feedback from the O2 sensors to apply corrections to that map to adjust for how the specific vehicle is running at the specific time.

that is what determines how much fuel the car uses.
(that's simplified a bit but gives the general idea)

What kind of tube sits between the airbox and the throttle body has nothing to do with it (assuming it's not leaking or something)

so I was thinking of picking this up(probably wait and pick up both intake and exhaust), what exactly changes in the sound of the car. Is it when we accelerate? lol might be a dumb question but this is my first car modding so I'm like a kid at a candy store when I go into the sewell website... I love my IS

Me 2 bro. I am a super noob. LOL. Hey hows the ride on your F springs and shocks? I just bought a new 350 F Sport and it has the sport suspension but i wanted to add the springs but dont want the harsh ride. I already feel a big difference on the highway compared to my 09 is 250.

Its a lil stiffer but still rides nice. I feel its more fun to drive with the new suspension and Im happy with the drop I got. this is my daily/work vehicle so I really cant go too low.

not 4x4 bro. I believe your f-sport suspension is lower than the regular ISs so it cant be as bad as mine was. But yeah looking forward to seeing the pics! I need a decent camera to take nice pics of my car lol

The F-sport option on the 2011 models is horribly named since apart from wheels and shift **** it contains no actual F-sport parts...

The suspension is the same as the old sport package suspension, which is a drop of 0.4 inches front, same height rear, compared to the "regular" suspension.

Versus if you use the actual F-sport springs/shocks, which are a 1" and 0.8" drop... (as well as, unfortunately, being progressive springs rather than the linear ones the sport package gets)

It makes more noise (on acceleration) because there's an extra hole cut in the lower airbox.

Cut a similar one in the stock lower airbox and you'll get a similar increase in noise with an otherwise totally stock intake.
