Aristo JOBD Code/Live Data scanning. Greddy/Blitz Displays??

Ok I found the Aristo Dash plug only has contacts in the pin locations 4, 7, 13, and 16...
Pin 13 should be Signal Ground according to standard OBD specs, seemingly the same function as Pin Position 5 would be. Except the JZS161 ECU Diagram shows the wire as TC..

Here is the ECU chart for the USDM GS300 Dash connector. It does not have the TC wire from the ECU going to the plug in the cabin. This doesn't show pin 5 for some reason but inside the car there is a pin 5 and it is a Brown wire that is just going to ground.
I verified that the TC pin is that same location on both ECU's, the GS body harness uses a P-B (Pink w/ Black Stripe) wire, but it does not come into the cabin with the rest of the harness, it only seems to go to the Diagnostic Port under the hood.
I also verified the "SIL" ECU Pin 11 (White/Grey) is going from the ECU to Pin 7 on the Dash connector, and that it also is the same location for both ECU's.
So it kinda seems that if the JDM Aristo is able to be read by a Generic JOBD Scanner, then maybe all that is needed is to jump the TC wire from the ECU into Pin 13 of the GS Dash Connector. I may have to try this soon and see if it works.

It would also be great to get codes back instead of having to count MIL's manually, from what I have found some JDM cars can do this as JOBD is more similar to OBDII than it is to OBD1..
Don't you have the HKS Camp? It's similar to the Blitz R-Vit DS I was posting about on the first page. Does the camp count MIL's like the DS does?

I dont have any issues with my car,
Im working on a customers car
aristo 2jzgte
R154
single turbo
map ecu 2
in a cressida
Have the tccs wiried up and can satisfy it , can drive with no codes.
Looking to use a a scanner to see what the fuel trims are doing would be great. We are working on that too.
Which vehicle base map have you chose for your map ecu?

Interesting.....I just pulled up a 99 GS300 EWD and here is what I show
DLC3 plug:
Pin 7 White "SIL"
Pin 16 Black "BAT"
Pin 5 Brown "SG" goes to ground and Pin 9 on ECU ME01
Pin 4 White/Black "CG"
Since it appears we no longer need the "SIL" wire could we see where that goes now versus where it used to go and simply switch it to the TC lead at the ECU and also on the DLC? My diag say it went to J9 connector and then to the ECU. I wish I had the time to looks in to this.....maybe later this week.
What year was your diag from?
So maybe in theory we could just run the TC to the DLC3 and......

The Pin 5 Brown "SG" goes to ground and Pin 9 on ECU ME01 is definatly a ground as I tested it. But you say it also goes to ECU ME01, do you know off hand which ECU in the multiplex link this is, as it's not going to the engine control module?

The Aristo does have the SIL wire installed in the DLC, we need that still. It's the GS's DLC Pin 5 "Signal Ground" (as called by the OBDII standards SG would be the ECU Initial) that the Aristo doesn't need any longer. I'm thinking it was a typo and you meant this wire instead.

I looked again at the EWD and everything I see points to Pin 9 on E2 on the ECM? I have the pdf but I'm not sure one how to post it up to show you. I can do pics but I'm not sure how to post PDF's. Help me out and I'll post it up.

Hi ya all my name is Pete I have bean watching this thread as I have bean working with a jzs161 engine and need to access the OBD for short and long term fuel trims to aid in tuning Map Ecu2 . So recently me and a friend put a jzs161 ECU in his 99 gs300 it started and idled but we could not access OBD2 . We also wired a J1962 connector as it would be in an Aristo and than as it would be in a GS300 including pin 9 ME01 with no luck . I'm no stranger to jdm Toyota swaps and have had no luck with JOBD , so I have begun to think perhaps I was barking up the wrong tree . I was studying OBD2 and JOBD because they both use the J1962 connector and I started to come across M-OBD protocol which is supported by the Toyota Mastertech hand held scanner the predecessor of Toyota Techstreem . So anyhow I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on this subject as once again I feel as if I'm so close to figuring it all out .
