Default 02' IS 300 A/T Drain and Refill????PLEASE HELP

Hey, I was wondering if someone could tell me the best way to replace trans fluid. My girlsfriends car has over 100k and it has never been done. Should i replace the filter and pan gasket? or just a drain/ refill? Please help.

at 100k, i'd suggest calling your dealer to find out if they have a flush machine... if they do, have them do the flush... then next time, change the fluid yourself but a bit more frequently... i'd say every 3rd or 4th oil change is a good time to do a drain and fill on the transmission...

This is a good idea. I used to work for Toyota as a technician. There are two additives usually added at the time of the flush. One is added prior to the flush to remove the old deposits from the trans. The second is added after to serve as a trans fluid stabilizer over time also ads in further protection of the clutch packs.
