Looking to do my next Mod. Thinking F-Sport Intake. Just did the F-Sport Wheels so can't justify exhaust yet. Anybody "just" do the intake? Make any difference or not worth doing until you do the exhaust too?
The only think you'll gain is a nice sound as the intake opens up at 3500Krpm
That's a beastly engine you got there
The sound is pretty noticeable when you get to around 4000RPM. When I had just the intake, I would purposely shift late just so I can hear the intake haha.
Thanks all. Great feedback. Will probably do it at the 5k service and see how I like the sound and then think F-Sport Exhaust.
haha wow I was in the same position as you! but i bought my fsport intake on sale :P and i told myself I will wait till my 5k service to install my intake..
but i ended up doing it myself one night -.-
Now only time will tell until i pull the trigger on the fsport exhaust..
only at 3k miles only LOL
Langjaykev, where did you buy, how much and hard to install? If you don't mind telling me.
Thanks
Get it from www.sewellparts.com. Sign up with your CL username if you haven't already. I got mine there for ~ $350 shipped to my door. Installed in less than an hour. If you can change a light bulb, you can install the intake.
Intake alone should give you about 5 HP and it's the most cost effective performance mod. F-Sport Intake will cost you close to $500 MSRP
Exhaust will give you about 2 HP and it will cost you $1,470.00 MSRP.
I would get the intake first since it's the best bang for the buck in terms of performance. BUT, with 5 extra HP, it's not going to help much. In fact, you won't feel big difference in terms of speed.
As other said, it's more of a cosmetic/sound mod...
Someone posted a dyno result in import tuner magazine. So I won't take any credit for it...

Thanks
i bought my car in january.. and bought the intake in late december LOL. i already knew i was going to get an IS so i bought it! Sewell was having a sale was 272 shipped :P
Installation is really easy. and it comes with DIY instructions. trust me it isnt hard, its really straight forward! just unbolting and bolting it back with the fsport parts
or you can get it from sewell lexus after club lexus discount its 336.. but they have a promo code COLD. thatll bring it to 323 shipped.
Rather buy from sewell who is a vendor here
