Sudden loss of power/acceleration
I own '01 GS300 bone stock with 113,xxx miles. Always used premium gas, last major service was done @ 94,xxx miles.
I was driving home this morning on the freeway cruisin' about 75-80mph and then all of a sudden the throttle stops responding! I pressed on the gas and the engine revs up and nothing happens. the car is still on and running, no CEL. Now I'm coasting across 2 lanes to get to the emergency lane and just out of curiosity I pressed on the gas and it responded. I made it all the way home (20 miles) shut the car off and started it back up again to see if it would and listened for any funny noises. Idles fine, still no CEL. Any idea what this might be?
