Default Blitz Throttle Controller 01-05 GS430

After doing a search, there are no threads specific to this controller.

There a couple of posts here and there but nothing concrete.

To all the people that have this installed, can you share your opinion?

well worth it

your welcome to check mine out if you want (3gen GS). member habeeb89 also has this on his 2gen GS430 and he is the one that talked me into it. I just installed min a few weeks back and the tech at the dealer was shocked how much it changed when I showed him

Thank you very much for your post Mike!

My main concern is to still keep the car drivable under normal circumstances. I'm worried about the throttle becoming too sensitive (being too on/off with nothing in between). I hope that won't be an issue.

How does the controller work? If I leave it in say... Mode "SP2", will it remain in that mode? Or do you always have to pick a mode every time you turn the car on and off?

Thanks again!

No problem,

Its very sensitive in mode 3 IMO. Every time I get in the car its off so you have to turn it back on and select what setting you want. You have full control at all times to turn it on/off or the setting that you want to use. It took a few days to get use to the throttle being more sensitive but I love it now.

You have economy mode (seems like OEM), SP1, SP2, & SP3...or just turn it off and it goes right back to OEM status. Its all P-N-P so you dont need to modify anything.

Is there a Blitz TC for the GS400s? or only the 430 models?

Actually in 1998 Lexus went to throttle by wire (TBW) on the 1uzfe V8 found in the LS400, GS400 and SC400. True, there is a throttle cable but it does not open the throttle... that is done with an electric positioning motor. In the event that this motor was to fail the throttle cable will eventually open the throttle but this happens nearly 3/4 way of travel and will only open the throttle about 25% total. A small metal tab will catch a small metal shoulder under these conditions. In normal operation this never happens.

So, back to the question. Is there no Blitz throttle controller that will function for the 1998-2000 1uzfe? Has this been confirmed from Blitz? I hate the sometimes laggy response of the TBW.

Confirmed that Blitz does NOT offer it for these cars.
http://www.blitzpowerusa.com/applica...le_applist.pdf

It is possible though that one designed for the 3uzfe (430 engine) could be modified to work with the 98-00 1uzfe (400 vvti engine). The product has plug and play OEM type connectors and those are likely different than the 400 connectors. That said the operation may be similar enough that splicing the wires could work. All we need is someone with a blitz unit, lexus service manual and some craft.

Thanks for all your help! It's definitely nice to hear someone's opinion about a mod before pulling the trigger and buying one. After receiving positive feedback from both you and Mike it was enough to convince me to purchase mine!
