Thumbs up Joe Z Intake / HKS Drop In Filter

Hi All! I'm new to the club, but have been surfing the forums for a few weeks now since buying my 2007 IS350 RWD.

I just wanted to first say thank you for all of the great information - great to see club members sharing info and experiences that benefit others, so way to go!

One of the pieces of information that I received when searching for performance upgrades, was around the availability of the Joe - Z Intake pipe and Carson Parts. I just ordered the Black anodized Joe - Z pipe and an HKS Drop In filter, and I have to say that I had a terrific customer experience.

On advice given by the Club Lexus membership, I asked for and spoke to Luis directly, and he took the time to explain all of my options, and answered all of my questions.

I'm now anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new gear, and what it will bring to my already amazing ride (can't wait to hear that growl!). I'll also be modifying the bottom of the filter box to be like the f-sport...should be nice, especially at the price.

Anyway, I highly recommend that you speak to Luis for your parts needs!

I'll update you on the install (with pics), once the parts arrive, and I put them in.

Cheers from Canada!

Why spend $100 to get something you get free with a dremel?

source the bottom half of the airbox - or the entire airbox - from a salvage yard (or, while rare, from the 2is classified section) and dremel a hole in that.

less expensive than the bottom half of the f-sport airbox, and you still keep your original piece.

Unless there is a compelling reason to purchase the F-Sport lower air box over making a clean opening in the existing stock unit (i.e., more power, better sound, etc.), I think I will opt for the lower cost option (free) and make the cuts using a Dremmel with a diamond bit, then finish the edges with some split rubber tubing.

Feedback, opinions, ideas? Appreciated.
