Ok so I decided to go with the Invidia midpipes since I got a great deal on them. They should be in Monday. Now I'm in a bind with what axle back to get. Im stuck on F-Sport, Greddy(both), & Tanabe. In no order. I've seen the F-Sport/Invidia youtubes. Thx btw. Im thinking they might be too loud, not sure. Those with the Greddy/Invidia & Tanabe/Invidia... Any videos? Sound clips? If not can you describe the sound. Any recommendations would help. Also I've got the Injen intake. Also are there any install/Diy post on here, just wondering. I couldn't find any.
Com'on. All these members with no feedback or opinions. What would u do in my situation? And those with the midpipes what axle back are you running and how does it sound. What's the best combo?
If you ask for my opinion, I would rate F-Sport 1st, Tanabe 2nd and Greddy 3rd.
I have a friend that has the Tanabe on his 250 and it's quiet and nothing aggressive. Just a touch of sporty exhaust note. I also know someone with Greddy but they were not too impressed about the sound of the Greddy. Greddy never made the best sounding exhausts in the world, which is evident with their previous EVO2 and SP2 models.
With Tanabe, it's definitely quiet and the quality is quite nice.
I personally like F-Sport because the materials inside the canisters and the construction of the axle back system comes from a reputable exhaust tuner, HKS. I can't emphasize any further about their quality and racing pedigree.
I'm sure you've heard some video clips on Youtube of the FSport and Invidia midpipes and many think it is quite loud. Although loudness varies from person to person, almost any setup with the Invidia midpipe, paired with any axle back system, will be on the louder side. This is unique to the Invidia midpipe piping diameter and resonator. The loudness of the Invidia midpipe with any axle back will be more or less in the same ball park, with the exception of the HKS HI-power axle back (which is going to be very very loud). This is due to the different design in canisters where HKS Hi-Power uses N1 style canister and the others (Fsport, Tanabe, Greddy, Megan Racing OERS, TopSpeed, etc) are oval style canister.
It all depends what exhaust note you are after, what style of canister you prefer, and most importantly what brand preference do you have. Also I am not sure if you are budget constrained and what exhaust tip style you are after. In general, it is really your personal preference. =)
Hope this helps and feel free to PM me if you need any further assistance. Cheers!
Update... So I got the midpipe on Monday. I got and started to do the install, started at the passenger side first. Mind you I had 2 jacks and two jack stands, so it's a little tight lol. I got the o2 from the passenger side out fine then went over to the driver side and it wouldn't even move. So after about half an hour of cussing and frustration I picked up a torch and some pb blaster( stuff works great!). I heated it up and waited so it was cool to the touch. Sprayed it down and waited 10 mins or so and it came loose. Now after looking at it come to find out the factory didn't even use anti-seize and my threads on the o2 sensor was all gumed up. That got me more mad. The next day I went to autozone to pick one up and come to find out there like 200 something for the OEM one and like 70 for the universal one, I was like WTF. I ended up useing the universal one bc i didn't want to fork over another 200+ into this. The o2 was very simple to install, it came with great instructions. So I got everything installed and bolted up. Cleaned myself up and proceeded to start it up to hear it/check for leaks and engine light. It started right up, my first initial thought was like this sounds like a 350z/G35 but no as loud. It was a cold start so the the sound was a little deeper, after it warmed up the sound mellowed out and you can barely tell if I had anything. Took it out for a drive, at cruising speed you can't even hear it but when you step on it you can hear it open up from idle to around 3300 or so then my intake kicks in. I like it to far, no complaints or engine light here. I'll post an update in a week or so and maybe some sound clips.

Reason: Spell check
ive heard tanabe with a megan midpipe. i really liked the sound. not too loud but still aggressive. id imagine with invidia, it'll be louder and raspier.
just ordered mine from Chris over at Team SNS. Ive got the Greddy axle back so im kinda excited to hear what it will sound like. I havent heard this combo before so lets see what it sounds like. Ill have it by the end of next week so ill post some clips then
^^ which greddy do you have? Ya looking forward for the video. I'm still debating on it. Cuz I can drop cash for the fsport or get tanabe/greddy and Ppe header and pay for install on the headers
If you don't want loud....DON'T get the F Sport!! I have two buddies (probably the two who made the YouTube videos) who have the Invidia/F Sport combo. It's kinda annoying IMO. I'm a bit older and have modded 7 Honda's/Acuras and am done with loud exhausts that really don't make your car too much faster. I'd go with the Tanabe which is known to be one of the quietest.
i had the tanabe with invidia midpipe. It sounded nice and loud enough..although it had a bit too much "bass" sound for my tastes so I went with and Fsport with oem midpipe. Perfect sound for me.
