Default New 2000 GS300 owner with questions

Hello,

I've just purchased the GS300 and love driving it or sitting in it while listening to the Nakamichi sound system. But I do have a few questions and I've failed to find the answers.
1. Is Chevron 89 octane gas ok or do I have to use the full premium?

2. Is there any advantage in using the automatic transmission more like
manual transmission?

Thank you for the help,
Carvil A. Day

About your second point, about the only possible advantage is that you can save your brakes a little if you down shift to slow down. You still have to use the brakes, just not as much.
