lexus recommend 5W-30, I personally use 0W-30, but you can use 10W-30 also, depend on where you are, not extremly hot or cold there is it?

I would stick with 5W30 and here's why. A multi-viscosity oil has a base weight of the lower number. Various polymers/additives are then added to the oil to prevent the oil from thinning beyond the upper number in the range. Ideally if we weren't racing a 30W oil would probably be ideal. However to allow us to drive around in the cold you want the lower base weight. Think about it as a polymer that's coiled and as it heats up it elongates. The 5W30 doesn't have to control the elongation as much as a 0W30 would? (Does this make sense?)

Please see this great link for info that better explains it than I.

In any case, I know that many 0W30 oils are starting to appear but until the manufacturers actually test and advise for them I'll pass.

Agree totally. You're in cold weather area, the next few months should have lower temperatures. 5W-30 should make your engine happy. Mobil1 is a great choice.

ditto on the 5W30. btw don't forget to replace the gasket ring on the drain plug - a very cheap investment.

Do you recommend to replace the drain plug too?
If so, where can I get it?

The drain plug itself?

Nah! Not unless you've somehow damaged it or the threads.
