a Linear Throttle Controller from Tom's or Blitz, they also raises the speed limit though?
Not to my knowledge.
In the thread where the install DIY was shown the TOMs unit wires in basically right in line with the wire that just tells the ECU how far you pushed the gas pedal.
So it'd be impossible for it to be doing anything other than lying to the ECU about how far you pressed the gas.
for something that gives a placebo effect, i rather spend that amount on f-sport sways.
I do not completely agree with your phrase “placebo effect”. A placebo does absolutely nothing, while the SprintBooster most definitely does something.

Yes, it lies about how far you pushed the gas pedal.
That is literally the only thing it can do for you based on how/where it is installed.
So it "feels" quick because when you push the gas down 20% it tells the car you pushed it 50% (or whatever translation setting it's on).
You'd get the same thing pushing it 50% without spending any money.... unless your foot is REALLY slow or something.
^right on. might be even worse for performance. just like how the ECT power button shortens how much you have to press the throttle, but at WOT it's actually worse.
try using your sprint booster, tom's, etc. at a 1/4mile track and then leaving it in normal.
or a short ram intake. the loud intake noise might seem to give you the most power, but it's actually the worst. the best is the joe z which is also the quietest of all the aftermarket intakes.
