Just wondering if in addition to the sprag, possibly we may be looking at more of a control issue with the transmissions. like jeff is saying, he feels the added snap of the valve body upgrade could be the culprit, so just wondering what your exact tranny setup is on your car jeff.

I was running an AEM to control A340. I would pull timing before shifts too. I was also able to run full line pressure, so lots of clamping I think the high stall converter made the shifts a little softer too. I used a level 10 rebuild kit and level 10 sprags. I actually had no VB mods eather. There is no need to spin the tires on a shift. When i was running bone stock I had a VB mod and broke a sprag.

Back when I was taking the step up from 400RWHP to 700RWHP+ the big upgrade was the transmission, Peter Farrell promised me that their trannys would hold 700RWHP, I just didn't want to chance it so I chose to go 6 speed which was more costly up front but IMO not in the long run. No regrets going 6 speed.

Great work here Jeff, everyone in the community is better off with all you do here. My hats off to you.

are these upgraded sprags for sale?

this would be a great upgrade. if i cant find someone who upgrades these a650e to hold some good power then im gonna have to run a built a341e with a a340e valve body and suprastick standalone tcm.
i have a dezod aem setup for the is300 and i am planning to do the auto to manual modification to the harness and just run the setup i mentioned with the built a341e if i cant find a a650e that will take the beating
