Smile HKS hi-power VS. Fsport exhaust

Hi everyone,

im new to this forum and this will be my first post
im looking to get a new exhaust and im wondering what the difference is between the Fsport exhaust and the HKS hi Power. I know both are essentially HKS but what is the difference in terms of sound. (in cabin and outside of cabin)
i dont want one that is ricer loud, just a deep low grunt like the G37s. i also dont want it to be annoyingly loud in the cabin. I dont know if anyone has sat in the G37 before but thats essentially what im looking for. u would prolly say, why dont u just get a G37 then, but yea its out of my price range.

Anyway, im also planning to get the Fujita SRI with it, so what should i do?
it would be great if someone can tell me the difference between the Fsport intake and the Fujita in terms of sound. thanks!!

firstly, welcome to CL and the 2is section.

sorry to burst your bubble so soon, but you won't be able to duplicate the G35/G37 sound on the 2is. simply physically impossible.

what you can do is make your 2is SOUND more aggressive. the hks hi-power axleback system is probably the loudest on the market w/ cabin drone galore, while the f-sport exhaust system sounds more aggressive without the cabin drone.

the fujita SRI system is also louder than the f-sport intake system, although there hasn't been any independent dyno charts to prove increase in power.

btw, a search can confirm everything i've said in this post.

good luck, and again, welcome.

^ +1, G35/G37 exhaust tone is unique.

All performance exhausts are loud (in cabin and outside of cabin), but between HKS Hi-Power and F-Sport, HKS Hi-Power is louder according the posts I have read in the forum. Also, price and muffler shape are different too.

I've heard the HKS and F Sport exhaust... and the HKS is definitely louder especially in the cabin where there is alot of drone. Personally, I have the HKS Hi Power + Fujita Intake combo, and I love the sound... the drone isn't as bad as people make it out to be IMO.

This week i currently traded my is350 for my friends g35 coupe 6mt (because i miss driving stick so much and he needs a 4 door for family coming over). And although the g35 exhaust note sounds amazing on the outside... I much prefer how my greddy se + f-sport intake sounds inside and out. (even i was shocked at this turn-out, i always thought the g sound was perfect) Just my 2 cents. The greddy is a little louder, at times, than the g35 but deeper.

Between f-sport and hks... i personally prefer the f-sport sound... But if price, is a factor i'd go with the hks (1/2 the cost). Its pretty loud though.... IMO

You can't say fsport sounds more aggressive , its subjective

Personally I like the hks hi power more than the fsport. , because its deeper and sounds like it has more ballz
The fsport is more high pitch sound compared to the hks , but both sound great u can't go wrong woth either one

And yea the hks will have more drone then fsport.., but again I enjoy some drone :d

i would get the Fsport too but like you said, the Hi-Power is half the price so thats probably the one im gunna go with. So is there anyway to reduce the cabin drone with the Hi-Power? does the Fujitsu SRI also cause a lot of cabin drone? cause if it does then i might as well go with the FSport intake cause that isnt too expensive. The only reason im questioning about the intake is cause im worried about it not producing the sound im looking for. I heard youtube videos and the Fsport usually sounds more like engine sound than actually from the intake itself, meaning not much difference from stock. I've nvr heard it in person so i dont know. but it would be great if someone can tell me if i can actually reduce the drone somehow from the Hi-Power then i might just go with the Fujitsu too. How annoying is the drone at idle or around 2-3k rpm? do i have to yell to chat in cabin or blast music to hear it?

The HKS Hi Power is definitely louder than the F-Sport exhaust. So in terms of loudness:

HKS Hi Power > F-Sport Exhaust > Lexus Accessory Exhaust.

You guys do realize the F-Sport AND Lexus Accesory Exhaust are both manufactured by HKS for Lexus right? LOL

you mean the fujita intake, right?

only way to reduce cabin drone is to buy silencers for the hi-power. check the hks usa website for more details.

Lexus's F-Sport is offered as an accessory exhaust at the dealership (as well as all the other F-Sport parts), and it's offered by HKS. (Don't confuse the F-Sport with the HKS Lexus exhaust. Here's a useful thread noting the differences: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...ds-inside.html).

Hope this helps!

i think what flipside909 meant by 'Lexus accessory exhaust' is the Leuxs HKS exhaust that is now discontinued. And compared to that, the F-Sport is louder.

As for the F-Sport intake, it definitely sounds different from stock, and the sound comes on at around 3500+ rpm, similar to other intakes of this type, and you will hear it. Personally I love it. However, i can't tell you if that's the sound or loudness you're looking for, and of course a SRI will be louder.

thanks for the replies,
so does the Fsport intake sound like stock under 3500rpm?
i kinda wanna keep it stock sounding (silent) if im not stepping on it.
so if it does, then im probably gunna go with the Fsport.

how does the HKS Hi-Power sound at idle? does it kick in after certain rpm or just loud even when im going at 20km/h or something?

thanks for answering my questions! it'll surely help me make the right decision!

under 3500ish rpm, you don't hear the intake.

i have the HKS Hi-Power system, and i've set off car alarms and sent small animals (and women and children and some girly men) scurrying for safety when i start my car in a parking structure.

just kidding.

while the above is a huge exaggeration, the HKS Hi-Power system is loud - it'll go from noticeably loud in idle to a full roar @ WOT. you will have cabin drone galore from 1500 RPMs to redline.

conclusion: it's simply not a quiet-sounding/-looking exhaust system; anything louder will be a full cat-back (or at least an axle-back + mid-pipes), an exhaust cut-out, or straight pipes.
