moved from CA to CO (performance loss?)
I just recently moved from the bay area to Colorado and I noticed that there is a performance loss. I realize that Im in a higher elevated area and that the air is thinner here. I have the Joe Z intake and I was wondering if I get an f-sport intake box if that would help restore some of the power loss due to the more air that comes in.

When I drove my 250 awd to the east coast, i was surprised at how much "faster" it felt, haha.
so in all, an intake isn't going to change much if anything. But everyone else loses the same amount of power (well, unless if you're turboed or supercharged).

soo what about a place like where i am in canada its by the rocky mountains in alberta ... im really high above sea level i dunno how much(if theres a way to find out let me know pls )
how much hp losss do you think us canadians are losing?

Changing intakes won't do a thing. It isn't the volume of air, but the oxygen content within that air. As someone said above, forced induction is the best way around the issue, but even FI cars don't perform as well out there.
In fact, I know Audi's reference altitude in determining boost. The higher up, the higher the boost... to a certain point.
Thanks for the input guys. I didnt think the intake would "fix" the issue but just help it just a little?
But yea when I was in CA the car felt fast and responsive. When I was driving through Montana you can def feel the loss. The car feels less responsive and heavier in some ways. But all in all I guess I can live with the fact that my car is slower now :'(

Just like when I was in Mexico City and my track was at exactly 7,411 feet and where I lived topped 8,000 feet and 2,000 feet further up was my uncle's shop, that's 10,000 feet. If you can figure out how to do a ram air attachment I did this for my RX300), if you can't afford to do forced induction, this can help.
