Default Official Nitrous oxide thread

This thread is dedicated to nitrous I know a few members have nitrous on there cars and just by the amount of PM's I have received about my set up I figured it would be a good idea to make a thread about it where people can post questions they may have about it and other members who may be more knowledgeable than me may be able to step in and help answer them
Post your specs if you have any and feel free to ask questions

My current set up is an NOS dry shot system I am running an NOS solenoid Nos Jets size 0.52 equal to a give or take 100Whp shot I use a 5lb and 15lb NOS bottle depending on what I am doing with a pep boys on off switch and push button I completely hid my nitrous kit and will get some pictures up shortly of how I did my kit

A Nitrous jet size of .052" or 1.3208mm should produce:

Actual HP to the wheels: 103.80 HP

So figure give or take its 100 hp
Wait... you've run through 5 bottles of N2O on your system, running quite a bit of juice, and haven't yet had it on a dyno or done any wideband datalogging on it?

Thanks for starting this thread, Windex! I know I'm going to have a ton of questions about your set-up.

Here's a couple:
1. Did you install new sparkplugs?
2. Did you adjust your ignition timing?
3. I don't quite understand your "line in" picture. Do you swap the lines every time you want to make a run?

That's if for now. Thanks!

By the way, if there are any other members using N2O, post your set-up!

1) I replaced them with OEM plugs and I check them monthly. The first time I changed them I melted one so I check often now.
2) No I didnt adjust anything I just put the kit on and tear ***.
3) I do for the simple reason of once you have nitrous you get a little happy with the button. The first day I got installed it I went through two bottles

Do you leave the bottle open, or is it closed between runs?

1) How long have you had the system?
2) Any long term effects or damages?
3) How much is a bottle of Nos and how long does it last?

I am definitely interested in this but dont want to damage my car in any way so kinda scared lol.

Well, he did say that he's gone through 40+ bottles without any issues. And I searched for the prices to refill a 10lb bottle - looks like it's between $25 & $35, approximately.

1) I have had the set up for 10 months and have redone it 3 times
2) I dont feel like I have had it long enough to say whether or not there will be long term problems I havent had any except the price of new tires
3) Depending on the bottle size most common sizes are 5, 10, 15 pound bottles I have seen nitrous sell anywhere from $2.50 to $5.00 a pound average fill for me $35
