Is there any better exhausts than the Tanabe? Something not too ricey but just more throaty & tad louder?

That's going to be a very subjective answer! For example, I think my HKS Hi-Power is the best axle-back exhaust out there, but there are plenty members who hate it.

For you, I'd recommend taking a look at the Lexus F-Sport exhaust, the Tanabe, or the Greddy SE. If you want full cat-back, the JoeZ PTS exhaust.

^^ I agree with montgb that you'll get a lot of subjective answers. That being said, I agree with dojoman, F-Sport FTW!!! lol

Subtle, nice-looking and not super loud go with the Tanabe.
Decently loud with the canon look go with the HKS Hi-Power, also makes the most hp of the axle-back's due to the larger piping and straight-through muffler design. There is a replica of this exhaust, refer to my recent thread for pictures.
Want to make the most power? go with the Borla full cat-back

That's my contribution based on actual experience.

As far as I know from what I have read on the forums the wald is no longer in production but I could be wrong

Don't get HKS. You won't like the drone. Go with F-sport or Greddy. I'm switching to Greddy.
