I think there are a few members who have done this and the gains were minimal.

roughly 100-150 i believe. You gotta buy an Xpipe to put in place of that secondary cat.

Actually. GS400s do not have a third cat, it is a resonator and there is no gain in removing except for a slight weight loss and a louder sound with some drone.

Removing the stock mufflers and replacing with straight pipe is about the same, loss of weight (is a good thing and does add up and does improve performance) and louder exhaust.

vwynn, especially with your supercharger you need the 1 proven power mod on exhaust and that is the S&S headers. The extra flow created with the charger will place more backpressure on the engine which = heat which stresses the engine and reduces power. The stock Y pipe works well but it may be worth upgrading to dual 2.25" with the charger.

The primary cats bolt up to the s&s headers. I think this weekend is the weekend I install mine.

I have 2 videos both inside and outside of no exhaust. I just did it as an experiment between catback swaps and there was no exhaust beyond the center of the car so it droned pretty bad.

sorry for the lack of rev on the first one, the second i give it full throttle at the end

and if you wanted videos of just resonators in place and no mufflers well i did that too...just no video, it was much quieter but still fairly loud

both of those videos are with no mufflers and no resonators. I tried a run around the block with just the resonators, but I didn't record it. If you just removed the mufflers it would sound much more tame and muted.

i removed my stock mufflers on my gs400 only and have been running it like that for about a month, as far as performance not sure but it sounds really good especially when you get on it. im going to get some custom pipes to extend out the bumper and debating on using the stock tips.
