Default Help With Turbos

Hey everyone!
I have a 00 gs300 and want to add some horsepower to my car but I dont want to drop like $5k and I dont want to have 500+hp. I just want a little bigger boost than what a intake and exhaust and headers would add. plus I love turbos(but who doesn't) i heard i could add supra turbos to my engine and just the typical intercooler piping wastegate etc... with no problem. is this true and does anyone know where i could get something along these lines? thanks

The GE and GTE manifolds have a different bolt pattern. Therefore you cannot bolt the supra turbos onto your GS head.

You wont be able to get boost for under $5k, honestly $5k would probably barely get you a barebones kit and the associated stuff if you did the labor yourself.

So Im very in-experienced when it come to the 2jz motors. I had a integra Ls that I turbo'd. So what do i need to boost my 2JZ motor? I've seen kits from SRT but they were like $5k just for the kit, and I dont know if thats all i need? i thought about doing a motor swap to the TT aristo motor? thats around $3k?

check out clubna-t.com

you are better off doing a gte swap with at least a standalone, or at least an aem fic if you find someone who can guarantee to tune it.

you can boost nicely to 450whp for about $4k if you do all the work yourself, and buy an used turbo.

I was looking into the clubna-t kits until I realized I could piece together a XS power turbo kit with XS manifold, XS 50mm wastegate, T70 turbo, high quality oil feed & return for the turbo & oil pan flanges, intercooler, piping, knock off BOV, downpipe, intake, filter, for around $800-1,000 new off of ebay from parts resellers so it's not a special price I received. I have owned and installed a greddy T88 turbo kit for my MKIV TT and honestly see no difference in results with this kit. Time will tell but as an intro setup I would strongly urge not to spend $3k+ on a kit alone.

Throw in the FIC for $325 and various nuts and bolts I purchased/upgraded, friend gave me a greddy profec 2 as a gift which doubles as my boost guage, AEM wideband, exhaust shop custom welded flanges onto the downpipe to fit the stock GS exhaust, oil change, antifreeze for radiator ect the total came out just under $2,500. I did all the work myself which did take 3 14-15 hour days.

I later added a used dual 3" strait through exhaust I found in the classifieds for $150(great buy) and used but new in box precision 550cc injectors locally from craigslist for $300 and a meth kit from a friends Evo for $300. This setup ran great at 10-12lbs for almost 5 months/5k+ miles with A LOT of hard driving until I over did it without meth and cracked a ringland. I should have purchased the head gasket but live and learn. Currently putting in a built motor. Turbo kit is still in great condition though

considering mark at clubna-t IS xspower...

OP, your best bet is to just get mark's kit at clubna-t, add a haltech F10x and keep the boost under 8psi. Including install and tune you should be under your 5k budget and around 300rwhp, RELIABLY. I'd also recommend at least a trans cooler, and a methanol injection kit if you can afford it. A meth kit installed will be cheaper than changing the headgasket and will save you fuel by not reducing the engine's efficiency by lowering the compression ratio.

I know, my post was meant to be quick before I went off to work. Honestly to buy the kit as a whole for an extra $400-600 + intercooler piping is not very smart. Do you also know that Mark used to sell the kits for $1200? Until it gained popularity

Tony, I will go over my old list and add anything else I can think of that was last minute and send it over to you when I'm done.

Is it better to piece a kit together? or just do a swap? Man this sounds like every other turbo thread???
