Default Transmission problems IS350

I have problems with my transmission. My reverse doesn't work at all. When I switch the R position my car doesn't move back at all. Does anyone have ever problem like me? And if anyone knows EXATCLY which transmission IS350 has AISIN A760E or AISIN A761E because I can't find the confirmed info. By the way my car has only 28000miles and 2006 year and I have already this problem.

Thanks!

A760E. You're not looking in the right place if you've been told something else. techinfo.toyota.com has everything you could want to know that the factory will release to the public.

As I got problems with my AT, my friends advised me to put an additional cooler for transmission. Does anyone install it ever in IS350?

Thanks.

It doesn't even have a first cooler in the traditional sense. It has a heat exchanger. (which is why you can't change the fluid in the traditional way using the cooling lines).

I did an hour long canyon run, and tried to cool the car off, by doing a 30mile freeway run.

Got home, and dam, the transmission was super hot, never left 3rd gear in the canyons running 80+mph .

I wish we could run a Transmission cooler.

Hi,

I now this is a rather old post..

I´m experienceing the exactly same problem. Did you got the answer what the problem was, me and my dad is going to inspect the solenoids tomorrow.
Have also experienced some strange shifting overall (actually slipping when kickdown).

Thanks in advance

Rgds.

Mikael

take it to the dealer. reverse is a mechanical input to the transmission. if you dont feel the shift or it doesnt go in most likely need a new transmission. the dealer might drop the trans oil pan to inspect for debris.

Actually it goes into reverse but no strength at all (and it doesnt make that sound.. it´s just as it´s slippin).. i´m rather interested so I read the TIS documentation and a stucking solenoid (S1) could make the reverse unusable...
As my dad has is a mechanic were going to tear down the oil pan and clean and go through the solenoids.

double check trans fluid lthevel. inspect for leaks. if its world standard trans fluid without a dip stick their is a fluid adjustment process that needs to be done.
