Default Just installed Tanabe exhaust...

I just installed a Tanabe exhaust on my 2nd gen IS...
No pics...No DIY...NO sound bites.
...but for anyone looking to put this on their car, I can tell you it was well worth it.
I found one used for about half price. (I may have had some buyers guilt if I had to pay full price.) But the sound from the exhaust fits the car perfectly.
It's not to loud. If your looking for a loud exhaust , this is not the one.
It compliments the car. Gives a nice tone at idle. I'm pretty happy with it.

I like the Tanabe too. Especially with a set of 250 headers. I am curious about the megan midpipe but I don't think they make one for AWD cars. Besides, I like the sound as is.

not at all. the midpipe actually quiets down the low RPM drone from the tanabe, it gives better response, and WOT the sound is better. the tone is more agressive, maybe a little bit more louder than the tanabe by itself but not too much
so basically the midpipe gives you better more agressive tone, and as far as performance it gives you a more power in Low RPM and through the entire band.

megan midpipe will make your car louder and deeper
you won't first notice a big difference in the beginning, but it will definitely get louder
as you drive..
it was pretty loud for my taste, but I really liked it..you get the deep growl at low RPM

Can you just install a Megan Midpipe by itself with a stock exhaust? Will this give more performance without all the noise?

Congrats on your new exhaust,
I want to pick up some JUN-TW headers,
a Megan MidPipe, and a Tanabe Exhaust.

Perfect IS250 Setup

Moderate gains and notable response

Is there any real data to back these power claims up? Stuff from the manf does not count. I have not paid too much attention to the Megen mid-pipe so I might have missed it.

Congrats on the exhaust.

I got the same one and I love the sound, look, and relative price.

Everybody loves this exhaust...the only downside is the price of it all..considering it's just an axle-back

If you install the megan midpipe with the stock mufflers I doubt you will notice any difference in sound or performance. If you have the tanabe its a great combo, you will notice a better tone, and some power low rpm and up top too. nothin huge
