I just installed the intake on my dad's GS430. All is correct and had a fairly smooth install. Took me an 1 hour and a half. I have a problem though. The engine light came on! I had it on for about 50 miles and bam, it came on. I have read in previous posts to reset the ECU and that should fix the problem. My issue is that with the new Race ECU, I should not get a check engine light at all. That is what I have read in other posts. Please let me know what I should do. Should I reset the ECU or SRT, do you have an explanation?

Thank you Kindly.
you may have a dirt MAS. did you make sure to clean up the inside of the filter before you put it on? if not that might be the calprit.
I never had a problem with the engine light come on. 4000 miles so far without any problem. Double check your wiring and make sure that all your splices are well insulated from other wires.

Is it suppose to sound like an exhaust a bit when I accelerate?
Also the car feels a bit sluggish too. What did I do wrong?
ENGINYR told me to disconnect my battery and reset my ECU. Should I do that ??
Yes your intake should sound louder then your exhaust as you accelerate. Also if you didn't reset your ECU you need to so the ODB II computer can relearn the fuel map. Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes; it should be more powerful after about a 20-minute drive to reset the shift patterns during the drive be aggressive so the shift patterns learned are aggressive.

Thanks CarbonIS300. I reset my ECU last night and I drove it more aggresively today then I use to. The exhaust is coming in 2 weeks.
sure no problem, your getting the Borla exhaust right?
I am still debating on what exhaust to get but I am leaning toward the RMM exhaust. I don't want anything to loud and I heard that the RMM exhaust isn't too loud. What would you recommend??

Lextacy - I'm no expert, but I've read/heard that an intake without an ECU can cause you to have LESS torque at lower rpm because the stock air/fuel ECU programming doesn't get enough fuel to go with all that air, or something like that.
I met one guy who has an RMM intake (very old one) and he said it did have a bit of a lag at low rpm. I have also heard though that newer RMM intakes were much better.
These reasons (and cost) are why I've hesitated (no pun intended!) on getting an intake.

Borla for sure it sounds so nice i talked my in-law into the borla and he loves it sounds the best every time thats what they are famous for!!!
I used to have the older RMM intake on my GS4 and yes you do lose alot of lowend power this is why I replaced it with the SRT intake/ecu but Ive also heard that the newer ones were better.
as for the exaust I would recommend the Borla over the RMM and L-tuned since its considerabley cheaper and it's one of the quitest or the bunch, if Im not mistake borla and L-tuned are the quitest followed closely by RMM.
RMM is a little bit quieter than Borla IMO. I used to have Borla as a birthday gift from friends but I just don't like to put an American part on my imported vehicle.
