Default Question about -gte swap into 2nd gen

I initially was considering swapping my t61 into my 99 gs300, setting up a mapECU2, and possibly an accumulator mod for tight shifts. But after cruising Ebay, I see the 2jz-gte swaps are coming down in price.

I need a few opinions with justification:
1st - would you go vvt-i or non?
2nd - a341e or the stock a650e?
3rd - stick with Plan A - what management would you prefer?

My power goals are low; i just want a fun daily driver with some room for upgrade. I have a track toy already (megasquirted mkii supra that lives in 11-second land), so no need to overboard with the GS.

Thanks in advance, and nice forum btw!

1. Non-vvti requires more wiring.

2. You can't use a a650e if you go with a swap as it won't control a 5 speed tranny with a 4speed ecu and vice versa.

3. Depending on which motor you go with the Jdm car will already be equipped with a Map based system (non-vvti) and the Vvti runs on a intake Maf based setup.

so the transmission control is integrated into the ECU? guess i'm used to the old school stuff (separate ecu/ect units).

maybe that's a good thing; the a341e accumulator mod is simple and stall converters are a plenty.

i'll have to search more for a well documented vvti swap; maybe more popular in the IS?
