Talking Labor cost to install a new....

Overall I am looking for a range I can expect to pay to take an aftermarket exhaust and the Lexus Ipod integration hook-up into a body shop and have them install it. I called my local Lexus dealership, in both Fort Myers and Orlando (I go to school here) and they wanted 108$ an hour which I thought was just crazy. They said it would take two hours to install the new exhaust and 2 hours to install the ipod integration thing...is this true or are they taking me for a ride?!

On a side note, will installing either of these things by a 3rd party shop void my warranty in any way? If the response I receive on this topic confirms my feeling that $108 dollars/ hour x 4 hours total is astronomical I was hoping for some recommendations of good places to get work done in either area!

Thanks in advance for ANY information you can give me... I have some more questions about what type of exhaust I should be looking into for a mean low growl and not a weed-whacker type sound but I suspect I can find plenty of topics on this using the search function!

ps: I drive an 06 IS350 if that matters at all

which exhaust are you trying to get installed?
they shop is full of **** if they said that it will take them 2 hours to install it.
I installed my Tanabe exhaust in the garage and it only took me 30 min..
if it is a full exhaust..then I'll say it'll take you 45 min..
so why not install it yourself? lots of member including myself have done it!!

I don't really know about the Ipod intergration but I'm pretty sure
people who have them can help you out! I know there are DIY for both
exhausts and Ipod intergration!!
just take your time and do it!

save that labour money and invest on your IS

I am looking at used Exhaust systems as I don't really want to pay retail if I don't have too...the F-sport and HKS seem to be the top runners though I need to do more research. I am looking for a much deeper growl instead of a high pitched whine like a honda with a lawn mower engine.

The problem with me installing it myself is I will be at school in a week and I live in a one bedroom studio in the middle of a New Urbanist community which leaves no room for me to just jack up my car and figure out what I am doing, as I really have no idea and would rather leave that up to someone who does.

do it yourself! you can totally install the exhaust in your parking lot. lol itll be ghetto style but its easy and only 4 bolts total for an axleback. if you really wanted to stop by sarasota on your down or up between orlando/ft myers. your more then welcome to listen to my tanabe exhaust. i actually live off exit 195 or 200 off of i75. depending on the way your comin from.

on install times the exhaust should take 20-30mins and the ipod maybe 45mins if that. i know i can get behind my radio in like 5mins... so lexus is full of it...

also doing either of these mods with a third party shouldnt void your warranty.

lol... gotta love the sushi. Yeah i'd say let iSuxeL do ur exhaust, if it's a bolt on it should take no more than an hour if your doing it yourself. It is seriously like a 20-30 min job with a lift and air compressor, a 2hr labor quote for the exhaust is just insane.
