Default Exhaust install questions??

Hello,

I have just ordered the Tanable Exhaust and was wondering how long and how hard it is to install.

I am new and just took delivery of my 08 IS350 Smokey

I have all the equipment needed to change the exhaust..but don't have a torque wrench.
I know sometimes the bolts are frozen and is a pain up the @!$% to loosen them.
Have anybody changed there own exhaust without a torque wrench?

From what I have been reading there are only two bolts (I assume they are just the two bolts from exhaust and Cat. Convertor, correct?

Does anybody have any pics of their Tanabe exhaust?

Are any mods. needed for the exhaust to clear the bumper or is this a straight forward bolt on?

Estimated install time for one person?

Can't wait for future mods.

Thanks

M

it's very easy to install. I did mine in literally 15mins. There are just a couple bolts to remove. The hardest part was getting the rubber hangers off. You don't need a torque wrench, just a regular socket wrench will do the trick.

Thanks for all the info.
I'll just install it myself instead of a shop.

glad you got it done.
but for future reference you can always rent a torque wrench, and many other tools from autozone for free. Although in this case its not really necessary.

now how about some install pics?

tanabe is an axleback only so its a very straight forward swap. It's going for $619 from our vendor Carson Lexus... checkout the sponsors forum

it's one of the easiest mods you could actually do yourself. If you can change your own oil you can do this exhaust swap. lol

Most shops charge around $50 for the install...

It was easy to do!
I did in during the TV commercials while watching the Pistons and Magics game!
Save yourself the money from the shop.
If your not going to keep the stock exhaust and go to a shop so they can get rid of your exhaust system.
Good luck.

Nice Job!

I did mine myself also. Its so easy to do. A little trick for those who want to do it them self you can spray WD40, or anything similar, in the rubber grommets to allow the hangers to come out easier! I didnt have any troubles or need to use it on my car but it has helped me in the past. I had a performance shop show me this years back!

Post us some pics

Very easy install, 45 minutes including setting up the vehicle for install. Torque wreck definately not needed. Unfortunately, I will be selling my tanabe w/i two weeks. My wife does not like the sound although I love it. I purchased it two weeks ago from Carson. Beautiful system.
