I hear you .... I was reading the posts on the headers and the custom exhaust ideas you guys where bouncing back and forth. I walked away and started to look into the LMS S/C but they no longer are around...There just isn't much we can do to these cars that is really worth the $$.

I am considering the mid pipes now to finish off the exhaust to loose a little weight and give it a little more sound.

Default Version 1.5 of the JP Mount

Well we finished with another update today and tack welded the bolts into the mount. This is a HUGE improvement as it reduces the install time down to about 5 minutes! This includes pulling out the OEM battery and H/W.

The battery is very secure and I've started it up several times and drove around the block a few times with the A/C blasted, radio up as loud as I could take it, seat heaters on, etc.

Here are a few pictures of the improvements and final install with all the engine covers in place.

I really like the idea of loosing 26 lbs off the upper front end of the car. It wouldn't just improve accelleration, but would also improve braking and cornering.

Is this what you used as the primary box? That isn't a bad price. They also have a pretty good price on the PC680T.

Maybe we could get an approved vendor to organize a group buy on the battery, box, and JP Mount.

Greg,

Yeah that is almost the same primary box that I got. The one I have is a textured black matte finish purchased from odysseybatteries.com for $43.

I wonder how much more that texture and paint weighs ...

My toughs exactly. Way to go, I love it!

Since I don't plan to go to the 1/4 mile more than a couple more times I'm wondering if I can start the car then remove the battery for the runs?

LOL I believe in theory it should work, but I wouldn't try it.
This reminds me of a poster that I recently saw with a rotary engine on it and below it said.

No, absolutely not. You will hurt your alternator.

I said I was only going to be using this battery until December, but I have liked it so much that it's staying in the car all year. The battery worked well all through the summer months on the IS350 before I moved it to the IS-F and has shown no signs of issues with the cold either.

Anyway, just an update here from the guinea pig.

I have left my car for 4 days once without driving it and it started right up. I would venture to say that even if I left it for a week I'm pretty certain there wouldn't be a problem. Now i'm not sure I could say the same if I parked outside and left it for several days in the frigid cold, but who knows.
