newbie help for forced induction
Hey all brand new to the forums and just as new to the lexus world. I just wanted to know if i planned on turboing my is300 what supporting modifications would you suggest i do before applying the forced induction. I did a little research and have seen many suggestions concerning the head gasket and possibly the transmission down the road. I would also like to know about any modifications that arent necessary but suggested i do before turboing as well. Sorry for the ignorance on this subject but im completely new to the lexus scene but would really like to get learn more. Thank you all for your time and help!

check out the SRT kit, it has everything you need for the engine. if you have an auto you would need a valve body upgrade and possibly torque converter depending on how much power you want to make. if you have a manual you will need an upgraded clutch
It all depends on your HP goals but you mentioned the essentials, head gasket and valvebody/tranny cooler/sprag gear upgrade. Stock internals are good up to 450whp, transmission, assuming you have an auto, is about 350whp but you are really pushing it at that point. You will also want to upgrade the suspension, tires, etc. Make sure you do all the necessary maintence first and your IS is running right before you turbo.
