Default INJEN Intake

I installed an Injen Intake on my 350 about a month ago and the gas mileage sucks! I drove 2 tanks with the cruise set a 79 and only got 25mpg. I was averaging between 27-28 stock. Anybody else seen any problems like this with anyother intakes? I may send it back.

Are you really concerned with an extra 2 miles per gallon?

Actually yes I am when it claims to gain mileage, and the way gas prices are every mile helps.

The stock intake already gives you all the air you need, a short ram just changes that from cold air (good) to hot air (bad)... so why in the world would one expect it to improve mileage?

I seriously doubt anyone is going to get 32mpg city in any IS currently made.

I don't know about these numbers, but I have gotten 33 mpg on the hwy. My city is @ 14-17 mpg most of the time. And some times 12.

I usually get about 330 per tank as well with my INJEN. But when you are putting in 13.5-14 gallons it doesnt make that good of mileage. My buddy has a Fugita and consistantly get 28-29 mpg. I wonder if I need to reset the computer for the increase in air flow. I wouldnt think so. I have only run 3 tanks through it after the intake, so it is still new.

From what i heard from my shop.. new cars like the 2IS have advanced ECU's where it will recognize more air flow on its own and self adjust the fuel/air ratio. Don't know how true it is.. but if you really want.. tell your shop to remap ur ECU.

yes^^ with the simple mods of just an intake an exhaust, our ecu can tell that there is more air and add more fuel.. they are pretty smart! but if you start getting into bigger mods then you you will probably need to get you fuel/air ratio re-mapped
