I think this has been discussed here before. an exhaust tone depends on the engine itself. It is not possible to get the same exact exhaust tone, even though if you want to try retrofitting a g35 exhaust into the is350. It will not sound the same. There are great exhausts available for the IS350 if you do a good search, many sound good if not better than the stock g35 IMO.
if he wanted it to sound like a 02 g35 he just wants it to sound like a deep beast , but ya, i just got my tanabe in, im loving it. i wont go as far as to say it sounds like a g35 or w/e, but it has a nice deep tone imo
My g/f has a G35 and is most likely getting an IS350 in a week or so. With that said, and as quiet the IS is we've looked a exhaust a bit and found the closest sound (via youtube) was the HKS Hi-Power. I like the sound and it doesnt seem raspy really.
get the hks hi-power exhaust, that will give ur car a certian exhaust tone. It wont sound like a g35 (why would u want ur car to sound liek another car?!?) , but it will sound like an Is350 should. By the way my sister has a g35 and I have the hks hi-power on my car they both have a unique great sounding exhaust tone.
I agree on the comments, depends on the engine. I know even over in the RX forums we get the same question on occasion, and despite all my experimentation with exhaust, the engine (even with modifications) is really the unique piece in the equation. You can ask my cousin about his Golf VR6, which in my opinion is perhaps the most unique engine sound out there and very tough to modify the exhaust sound off of one to something else.
