Default Supra TT LSD into an '01 gs430

First off, Do I need the one from an auto or 6 speed supra? Is this a direct swap? Do I need the whole pumpkin or can I just swap out the internals and put in the supra lsd unit into my pumpkin? thanks guys

also, Is there any way to make our trannies shift firmer? Any companies out there make shift kits?

It's a direct swap. The one you want is the supra auto tt differential.

Swapping out internal will require a lot more work than swapping the whole pumpkin. Even then, I dont know if you can swap the internals.

For a firmer shift, I believe SRT has a valve body upgrade.

there is someone here that changed the LSD guts from the supra to the GS, so it can be done. however just swaping the LSD alone should work too, but i have not done this, so don't know. if you look in the TRD website, the supra has the same LSD part number as our cars, so maybe they can be swaped.
here is a link to a LSD for sale. this is alot cheaper than buying the TRD like i did.

also, this way you can keep your stock gear ration.

The Supra 6 Speed LSD works and fits just fine! Way, Way cheaper to just install the LSD. The Supra TT auto pumpkin has a higher gear ratio (3.76) if you looking to launch harder.

Yeah, I had a new (3.76 LSD) unit installed recently on my GS400 and it's great! I'm also one of those lucky ones that do not hit the rev limiter!

Great information. I was looking at the same thing. I saw a LSD on ebay and did not jump on it because I was not sure it would work. Again, Thanks for the great information.

I was one of the ones that bought one off eBay. Call Johnny at Titan Motorsports. He may get some more in.
