I posted about a three weeks ago with the same problem. Took it to the dealer, drove with the technician and the diagnosis was the mufflers. Lexus felt there was debris within the muffler. They were both replaced under the warrentee. The noise really never disapeared. It is very evident going uphill. Was not there during a recent rainfall....pretty weird. Anyone have any ideas?
I had a oddball suspension rattle(i know it was under accel but the suspension squats so it could be) that ended up being lack of lubrication for the sway bar bushings. This could be the case because water can act as a very temporary lube. Also is it coming from the rear or the front. Also is it from full throttle or half throttle. Any info will help
Let me know, Allen
Allen,
It is comming from the front. Low to about 3k rpm. It's not loud but noticable. I intially thought it was a belt. The tech drove it with me and opened the door during acceleration and thought it was the muffler. It almost sounds like knocking. I use premimum gas. Thanks.
One of the rattles I had was due to a heat shield. I used a constant torque clamp from a diesel charge air cooler. Wrapped it around the heatshield & exhaust tughtened it up... no more rattle. Mine would rattle from around 1000rpm to 2300. Might be worth a shot.
