I've done it with my Aristo (and 2JZGTE engine) before....it ran fine. just lay off the gas until you empty the tank.

Does the onboard CPU adjust the timing on the motor like the BMW's and newer cars?

oh ISH your motor will now have 87 carbon in the cylinder walls, you need to change your oil at once and do a professional injector cleaning to get rid of any 87 octane particals in your engine's internals.

So I'm inquiring on this Lexus gs300. Some put a low grade octane in the car the check engine light illuminated... I got it to start this am it acted as tho it ran out of gas then shut off and want start anymore... Any ideas on what it cud be I changed the fuel pump thinking that would help cause it was time for a new one... Any ideas on how to remedy this situation

Even as you read this, the molecules of 93 octane are milling around the molecules of 87 octane. While the latter are attempting to shake hands and bond, the former are being arrogant about it, and finding ways to slip by without touching. None of them have yet realized the Hell that awaits them inside the cylinders, not to mention the contortions and pressure they will feel within the fuel intake system. Eventually, the different molecules (both friendly and arrogant) will be forced to coalesce (sp?) and participate in multiple Big Bangs. None of them yet realize they will create the same end products...... carbon, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and whatever else Hell produces.......and pollute the hell out of our atmosphere! And hopefully, as you introduce more and more arrogant 93 octane molecules, the lowly 87 octane molecules will have met their Maker, and order shall be restored within your vehicular structure.
