Default SAFC or Stock ECU Wire Gauge?

What gauge are the wires on the stock ECU or on the SAFC? I'm gonna pick up some splice clips and need to know the gauge.

It's pretty thin wiring. I think 18 or 20 gauge. BTW: I'd recommend you use a patch extension harness. Trust me, it saves you a lot of headache if you ever need to disasseble stuff to work on the motor Also, I'd recommend you to solder and use heatshrink tubing on the wires rather than crimping.

I was looking for something where I could just take the covering off of the ECU and/or patch wire and then solder the SAFC wire on. But I don't think they make anything that does that. I have to cut and strip it right?

Just do it by hand. It takes longer but it's not hard. Basically you use a wire stripper to make 2 slits in the insulation without actually cutting the wire. Then use a sharp blade or x-acto knife to cut vertically between the 2 slits and pull the insulation off. After that, you can tin the wire and solder the SAFC wire on. That's how I did it for my patch harness.

Alright, that doesn't sound too bad.

Thanks,
