GS460 Vs. LS460
The new LS460 is rated at 380 bhp. The older GS400 was rated at 300 bhp. I wonder if we resleeve and stock the good old GS400 to GS460 (4.6L). Would the older GS400 have similar hp as the new UR 4.6L motor. The reason I post this question because the GS heads are pretty for stock and with increase bore and stroke would be competitive with the new motor.

I'm no expert in this category, but wouldn't it be easier to take the 2uz-fe block and mate it with the GS400's head? At least then you wouldn't have to do any guess work on what the bore and stroke should be. But perhaps the 4.7L block has too long of a stroke to rev high enough to get top end horsepower.

Most people want the cubic without the weight. The 2uzfe is an iron block and its alot heavier. That is way the option of resleeving and stroking the current 1uzfe block to gain an additional .6 liter. Its easier for the 2uzfe but new and custom mount would needed.

Could it be done? Probably. Could you gain 80hp? Probably. Would it be cost effective. Not.
With no other changes in theory the basic gain would be 45hp. Adding headers and a few other tweaks would probably make the other 35hp.
Recommendation: turbocharging
