Default Is300 Brake Jobs

Just wondering if anyone out there has good experience with performing brake jobs on their lex?

I've got an '05 IS300, and its gonna need pads soon (40k, no noise yet, rotors still clean). Dealers seem to want soo much for a job I've done countless times on other cars/trucks, etc (Ford F250/Explorer/Camry/Buick/Jetta). Not worried bout the general mechanics of it all, but since I haven't actually pulled the wheel and torn into the brake system (YET) I thought I would see if anyone has any warnings/pitfalls/special Lex tricks to make sure the job is a success.

I'm new to CL, but (after poking around for an hour) DAMM glad I found it!!Thanks in advance...

Easy as long as you have the right tools. Brakes were one of my 1st mods, and I had zero experience working on cars before I bought my IS.

Besides regular tools, torque wrench, c-clamp, clear tube (for bleeding/flushing) is all u need.

Little harder than doing an oil change, but definitely something you can DIY in your garage.

right on.. thx, all. i'm really pretty familiar with brake jobs (other makes except lex) and wanted to be sure i wouldn't get in waaay over my head tearin into my BABY.

seem to remember once tearing down a wheel (buick, i think?), only to discover i had to run to like 4 different parts shops to find some random sized metric star-shaped socket to be able to pull off the calipers..

anyways thanks for the advice, maybe i'll rock those red-painted calipers before i put it all back together, too. (any advice on where i can poach those killer emblems for the calipers, btorok?)
