Default Torque Masters any good?

Hey guys, I know this has probably been discussed a thousand times but my time is to limited to do a search right now and this money I have aside is burnin' a hole in my pocket..are the Torque Master spark plugs that are available on the L-tuned web site any good for a GS 400? are they better than OEM? are there any other plugs out there that are better than TM's that would fit my car?
thanx for the feedback!

There is a thread with all this in one thread. Long story short, I wouldnt use them in my car. I researched them on the net and there are alot of people who had them desintigrate in their motors causing total failure. If I remember Petit racing tried them in their Rx7 motors and ended up replacing 2 or 3 motors for customers when Torquemaster wouldnt stand behind their product. Their is also another website online where a guy did multiple dyno runs with all different types of plugs. The best were Denso Iridiums. Thats what I have run in all my big power cars (576whp supra, 467whp Gs) and have never had an issue.

Most of the horror stories you hear are from the older versions of the plugs where they weld the side electrodes to the body. The RX7 guys had bad experience because those rotary engines run hotter than your average engines. Not to meniton, they track their cars and run them hard. The heat is enough to undo the weld.

However, the current TM plugs have no problem. The body and side electrodes are now one-piece design. I have only heard of one person who had misfiring issues with them, but that's about it.

I had these plugs on my car for awhile. I was able to chirp my tires from a stand-still. I went back to brand new Denso iridiums because I had plans for force induction. With the Denso plugs, I can't even get the tires to chirp at all. A forum member here witnessed this so it's not a placebo effect.

TM does not make the old style plugs anymore. All the ones you buy now are the new revised plugs.

Search this forum for feedbacks. There is even a thread where you can find the dyno between the TM plugs and the Denso plugs.

I have the Torque Masters and ever since I put them in I have nothing to complain about the one thing I am surprised about is that they really do hold up well with nitrous. Any tuner knows that when you are running nitrous it is a lot better to run copper plugs but these seem to hold up really well and it actually gave my car a better throttle response. So no complains over here about them.

I put them in my RX when it was stock a few years ago and didn't notice much difference. Then after I modified my RX, I put them back in again in late 2005 and immediately I felt results im MPG and in power...I wouldn't run anything else at the moment

Carson Toyota has them in stock for $12.50 a plug.

Default I am Happy

I have been running them in my GS400 for several years. I liked them enough to buy a set for my daughters MR2. I have been happy with the TM plugs.

Any other 2GS3 owners out there who are running TM's? If so, did you notice any improvement in idling, acceleration, and/or mpg?

I've had mine in for about 10000 miles and they seem to be fine. i'll probably pull 1 or 2 of them out soon to check them out. but they seem fine to me, cant tell mpg increase or decrease, i did notice the car pulls alittle harder, dont ask if it seem that way know because i cant tell it is something that ive gotten use to, my idle i dont think changed at all, everything is cool. if u want them get them its notsomething that u will regret. the only regret that ive had is installing them it was a pain in my a#@. just the bending to get the throttle body off.
